For Doctors, Nurses, Bereavement Counselors...
Anyone who works
with families on one
of the hardest days
of their lives~
We are a non-profit organization based in Salem, Oregon. Our goal is to provide tiny hats for babies who are born too early to survive. Our hats are free of charge and will fit babies born between approximately 16-25 weeks gestation.
Many of our hats are sent to families after a loss through their referral to our website. Although it's too late to place the hat on their child's head, it does give them a reminder of how big their tiny angel was and a little something to hold.
Our hope is to have the hats available in hospitals and doctor's offices so they can be offered to families in the midst of their grief. This not only blesses the family, but it also honors their child's life and allows the doctors and nurses to have something tangible to do for a family in pain.
Families who deliver their tiny angels at hospitals that do not have hats or clothing in the appropriate size often walk away from the experience commenting on that fact. While they're already struggling with the natural stage of guilt in the loss of their child, they also feel that they "failed again" by not being able to provide clothing for their child. A hat may seem like a small token in the middle of so much pain... but it will mean the world to the families you work with.
We are also available for no-cost inservice training of staff as to the best avenues for walking beside a family as they lose their baby.
Please fill out the form below if you'd like a supply of hats available to the families who may come to you on one of the hardest days of their lives.
Thank you for contacting Calvin's Hats! While these hats are just a small token to grieving parents, you are reminding them that you believe their child matters. That means more than you may ever know. Your shipment of hats will be on the way to you soon. Annie Willems Aunt to an Angel named Calvin
